Beyotime's G-25 series of desalting columns (BeyoDesalt™ G-25 Spin Desalting Column, BeyoDesalt™ G-25 Mini Desalting Column, BeyoDesalt™ G-25 Midi Desalting Column, BeyoDesalt™ G-25 Max Desalting Column) are pre-packed ready-to-use chromatography columns for simple and quick separation of high molecular weight substances from low molecular weight substances. The main application is removing salt ions, detergents, small molecule dyes, buffer agents, and other impurities from samples such as proteins, nucleic acids, peptides, and polysaccharides, which requires only one benchtop centrifuge.
Working Principle

Product Features
Wide Application:
① Removal of phenol red from the culture medium to facilitate subsequent purification of proteins or nucleic acids by ion exchange chromatography;
② Removal of single nucleotides from DNA samples to facilitate subsequent DNA sequencing; removal of small molecular weight markers from samples; and termination of reactions between large and small molecular weight substances by separation of the two;
③ Removal of protease products, cofactors, or inhibitors;
④ Removal of excess radiolabeling in nucleic acid labeling reactions;
⑤ Removal of excess D-Biotin from in vitro biotin labeling reactions;
Significantly superior to traditional semi-permeable membrane dialysis method
① Fast separation speed, time-saving: The desalting column can quickly separate samples, typically taking only 5 minutes to process one sample, while semi-permeable membrane dialysis typically takes at least 6 hours.
② Suitable for small volume operations, high sample recovery rate: The desalting column can effectively handle small volume samples of 0.1-0.3ml, with a recovery rate usually exceeding 90%. In contrast, during the release of samples after semi-permeable membrane dialysis, some samples may adhere to the membrane and cannot be fully recovered, making it unsuitable for small volume samples.
③ Saves solution: Semi-permeable membrane dialysis requires a large amount of buffer, while this desalting column only requires 10ml of buffer to complete the experiment.
Two using methods: gravity flow & centrifugation
① Gravity flow: The sample flows through the desalting column by gravity, which is simple to operate, with a slightly higher sample recovery rate compared to centrifugation, but the sample will be diluted by approximately 1.4 times.
② Centrifugation: The sample flows through the desalting column under centrifugal force, with a slightly lower sample recovery rate compared to gravity flow, but the sample will not be diluted.
